Let’s connect.
A working networking flow for connecting with the person standing next to you.
The flow, recorded end to end. Twenty-five seconds.
What it is
Networking, for a person already in the room.
Three files and no backend. You pick who you are connecting with — the person standing next to you, someone you met four minutes ago, a waiter, your own mother — and the product does everything a networking product does. It locates the human, checks proximity, generates courage, and offers you a note with 287 of 300 characters already used.
Then it stops itself and points out that they are 0.8 metres away and currently looking at you. You can talk to them, or you can say it anyway and find out what they say back.
Why
I almost said “let’s connect” IRL. That was enough reason to build this.
How it goes
Eight screens.

01Networking. Now available offline.

02Who are you trying to connect with?

03Generating courage…

04Human located. Currently looking at you. 0.8m.

05Character limit: 287 / 300.

06wait. you are currently standing in front of them.

07Suggested opening: hey.

08“…we’re literally talking right now.”
The record
- Made of
- Three files — one page, one stylesheet, one script. 21 kB.
- Backend
- None.
- Network
- One webfont. There is no other request in it.
- Runs
- Locally. It was never deployed and has no address.
- The demo
- A screen recording of the real thing, twenty-five seconds.
- Status
- An object. It was not a product and was not going to be.
If I can’t leave a thought alone, I make it real.
Some become products. Some become research. Some only needed to exist once.
Griotta is the one I’m building now.
